Heh, yeah, I know that feeling! This wasn't particulalry well-animated, but it was a cute little joke.

"A Legend of Zelda parody on Newgrounds" is a phrase on par with "A grain of sand on the beach", but this one is most definitely a cut above the pack! I'm frankly amazed at all of the clever and fresh jokes you've managed to squeeze out of a 15-year-old game.

The "I want you inside me" gag could've ended up feeling obvious and tired, but the ludicrous animation of the Great Deku Tree saved it and made me legitimately laugh (as did the utterly brilliant moment where Link saves himself by using an actual N64 controller!). Even the little, throwaway jokes, like Navi inexplicably being a chubby, husky Brooklynite (perhaps a nod to how she's usually presented as slim and sexy?) managed to make me laugh because they were just so well-presented. You've impressed me a great deal!

Anything related to Calvin and Hobbes is an instant win in my book, so this was a sight for sore eyes indeed. You got the colors down pat, and the old boys looked great in motion!

My only real complaints are the ones you couldn't control: that it was so short (it ended just as the music was getting especially funky! But, of course, that was all of the material you could work with), and that there was a fairly visible distinction between Watterson's original drawings and your added frames (but that's hard to avoid when there are two separate artists working on something). All that hardly detracts from the main work!

Man, there are some things that you just do NOT want to think about. Internal organs are one of those things. Sure, they're handy to have around for whenever your body needs to do a thing, but they're also ugly, squishy, and secrete disturbing liquids all the time. And that's the first thing this cartoon does right: it milks the inherent yuckiness of our own body for all its worth.

The SECOND thing it does right would be the way that it makes you feel sorry for those very same disgusting little things. Just by giving them faces and putting them inside a man who's apparently hell-bent on completely destroying himself, they become sympathetic and pitiable. They're ugly yet cute at the same time. And in an unsettling quasi-cautionary tale like this, those are the sort of characters you need to use.

I'm not even kidding when I say that this ought to be shown in schools, on Fourth Grade Health Day or whatever. Sure, that's probably hardly what you were going for, but this certainly teaches kids about the awful shit overweight/drug-addicted people go through.

Splapp-me-do responds:

Organs... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em! Thanks for the positive review, glad you liked it :)

These jokes are... bizarre, man. Everything moves at such a frenetic pace I can hardly tell what to laugh at and what not to. There's certainly a lot of charm to that, though. Even if this is all very simple, you seem to have put a lot of effort into it, and I'll admit I did find a lot of it funny!

LiveToons responds:

Thank you ... maybe I slow down the next animation I make.

It's a shame this isn't topical any more; I'm sure I'd have found it way funnier if everyone else hadn't already made these jokes. As it is, I still like the art, and the animation is clean even if it's a bit limited. For someone who's new at animation, it's very good!

I did laugh at that last joke. "Callofdutyghosts!"

I swear, you're a natural at this stuff, Hania. This is all very basic stuff, to be sure, but you definitely have a real knack for proper timing and you're really great with lines and shapes alike. I like the song, too!

I don't even get it. This is just two guys talking. There's barely any animation and no script.

LaDewsWin responds:

Yeah, it was just a long recording cut shorter then "animated". Like it says in the description, this was the very first time I tried animating and I just wanted to do anything to get started. I'm fully aware of how bad it is, but I just find the audio kinda funny.

The animation was pretty fluid, if simplistic. Some sound effects would have been welcome.

Alright, I'll admit it- I laughed. This short was dumb as hell, but it was clearly MEANT to be dumb as hell, and it's certainly as good as anything dumb as hell has any right to be. I liked the voice acting, I liked the obvious stock sound effects & music, and I liked the sheer... STUPIDity of it all. Not great, but it's amusing.

Alright, worms! I've got a lot of time to spend, and I don't want it wasted! Now go make something that impresses the hell out of me, and I MIGHT give you 3 stars! Make the best damn thing I've ever seen, and you get 4! What? 5 stars? BWAHAHA! DREAM ON!
