Man, there are some things that you just do NOT want to think about. Internal organs are one of those things. Sure, they're handy to have around for whenever your body needs to do a thing, but they're also ugly, squishy, and secrete disturbing liquids all the time. And that's the first thing this cartoon does right: it milks the inherent yuckiness of our own body for all its worth.

The SECOND thing it does right would be the way that it makes you feel sorry for those very same disgusting little things. Just by giving them faces and putting them inside a man who's apparently hell-bent on completely destroying himself, they become sympathetic and pitiable. They're ugly yet cute at the same time. And in an unsettling quasi-cautionary tale like this, those are the sort of characters you need to use.

I'm not even kidding when I say that this ought to be shown in schools, on Fourth Grade Health Day or whatever. Sure, that's probably hardly what you were going for, but this certainly teaches kids about the awful shit overweight/drug-addicted people go through.

Splapp-me-do responds:

Organs... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em! Thanks for the positive review, glad you liked it :)

These jokes are... bizarre, man. Everything moves at such a frenetic pace I can hardly tell what to laugh at and what not to. There's certainly a lot of charm to that, though. Even if this is all very simple, you seem to have put a lot of effort into it, and I'll admit I did find a lot of it funny!

LiveToons responds:

Thank you ... maybe I slow down the next animation I make.

I don't even get it. This is just two guys talking. There's barely any animation and no script.

LaDewsWin responds:

Yeah, it was just a long recording cut shorter then "animated". Like it says in the description, this was the very first time I tried animating and I just wanted to do anything to get started. I'm fully aware of how bad it is, but I just find the audio kinda funny.

I really like your character designs. The butcher's exaggerated ugliness is a hoot (and his chubbiness helps set up the joke at the end really well), and the cow's stick-thin legs coupled with its huge udder make for a funny combination! The animation was colorful, clean, and attractive, and I liked the sound effects too. One single complaint: while I laughed at the opening joke with the butcher shop's sign, it went on for too long. It shouldn't have looped three times over, because in a short film, that's long enough for the joke to get old- it should have run only once, enough for the audience to see the setup, see the punchline, laugh, and move on.

Just my two cents, though!

HugoVRB responds:

The character evolved so much in a short period of time, it even changed a bit during production so in a couple of scenes it looks different haha
The cow is something I'm really proud of and it's my baby <3
You can look for older reviews where I explain some things about why the beginning takes to long, but now that I see a lot of people tell me about it I have learned how much is too much.

Thanks for the review!!

The animation could've been better, and the song isn't really good beyond the basic joke, but this short's still a good laugh. And anything that references Friday the 13th NES isn't a bad thing in my book!

CabbageClock responds:

That's why we kept it short.

As always, you have an excellent singing voice and the song is catchy with amusing lyrics, and I'm very impressed by your animation skills! Very basic, sure, but the style is clean and attractive and it gets its job done. Plus, the guy's joyful face is just hysterical.

hania responds:

Muahahaha... I love that face too!! <3

I'm gonna be honest, I don't get the joke. I feel bad. But the animation was nice and smooth!

JaceC responds:

Well, I wasn't planning on this being a comical piece. Thank you very much! Help me spread this if you can!

This is some great stuff! Comic misunderstandings are usually funny, but they tend to reach a whole extra level when they're completely absurd and impossible.

I don't know exactly why, but I think I laughed hardest at the Barry Manilow posters in the background.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks.

I think the concept has a lot of potential, and some of the jokes really made me laugh (I'm probably going to be walking around screaming "JUNGLE FEVER!!!" for the rest of the the week). I really liked the pixelly, simplistic look of the house and characters, it gave them a distinctive style that doesn't need pretty animation to look attractive.

The voice acting wasn't especially top-notch, and the microphone is fuzzy and low-quality, but I can let that slide since, as you said, it's your first time ever doing this.

I imagine that you intend for this to be a series, since the video ends rather abruptly. I hope that's the case- I'd love to see more of this!

mattyking1985 responds:

Thanks so much, actually just used my ps3 mic haha!. I'm an artist not a voice actor but I gave it a shot.

This is awesome for being your first flash! The colors and animation both look great and don't have any technical issues, and your designs for Atlas!Jon and P-Body!Arin are amusing. It's a bit too short, and I don't really feel like this specific Grumps clip is all that outstanding or suited for visual interpretation, but I'm still impressed!

sohoshuffle responds:

Thanks! Yes my next one will definitely be better

Alright, worms! I've got a lot of time to spend, and I don't want it wasted! Now go make something that impresses the hell out of me, and I MIGHT give you 3 stars! Make the best damn thing I've ever seen, and you get 4! What? 5 stars? BWAHAHA! DREAM ON!
